Kerrie and Pete’s was the second of two weddings we photographed over the August bank-holiday weekend. They booked us over 18 months ago after seeing us at a wedding fayre in Solihull.
Their chosen church was St Mary’s in Selly Oak – a particularly attractive church with it’s tall, elegant spire and long driveway from the Bristol Rd. The church has a policy of no photographs during the service, however we were allowed to get the kiss. It’s always a little frustrating when we have such limitations however we covered what we could with both wide and long lenses to maximise our opportunities.
Following the service, everyone headed over to the Plough & Harrow Hotel on the Hagley Rd for the reception. Here we did most of the ‘couple’ photos in the early-evening light. Although the hotel does have a garden at the rear, we opted to use the front of the building and some of the surrounding roads to give a contrasting look to the pictures. We even got them walking up and down the central reservation (safely of course!). Just as we finished the session we noticed a police car parked up on the kerb, presumably watching what we were doing! While I was tempted to go over to the them and give out a business card, we thought better of it and ducked back into the hotel!
So here then we have a ‘sneek peek’ of pictures from Kerrie and Pete’s wedding day. The full set will be available to view in the Client Area once the couple have returned home from honeymoon and seen their presentation.
