In contrast to the previous couple of weddings, Ben and Amy’s big day was practically on our doorstep.  They booked us as a referral from Kaye and Tom who’s wedding we photographed last September.  Initially, everything was to be held at Hogarth’s Hotel & Restaurant.  But, they changed their minds quite recently and moved the wedding ceremony itself onto St Patrick’s church in Earlswood.

St Patrick’s is a church we must have driven past hundreds of times and never really noticed.  It’s quite unassuming from the outside, but once past the lovely double-arch doorway there is a really beautiful interior.  This is one of the nicest churches we’ve ever worked in and the vicar Kate was very welcoming and happy for us to do whatever we needed.

With the ceremony over, everyone headed to Hogarth’s for the reception.  This is a venue we’ve worked at several times now (and I’m there three times next week alone!) and we always love it.  Hogarth’s is one of our very favourite local venues and we always look forward to returning.

So here then is just a very small selection of images from Ben and Amy’s wedding.  The rest will be available to view in our Client Area once the couple return from honeymoon and have received their presentation.  Hope you like ‘em!

Saturday 8th August proved to be the single most requested date we’ve ever had.  Since Catherine and Mike booked us last March we must have turned away about a dozen other couples!  Well, we hope all those people had a great wedding and ended up with some great photos, because our 08/08/09 had both!

Luckily, we didn’t have too early a start after Neil and Heather’s terrific wedding the day before and with a gloriously warm day ahead we got to work down in Warwickshire.  It was the first time we’d been to St Peter’s church in Wellesbourne and it turned out to be a lovely church with plenty of light and space for us to move around without making our presence too obvious.  The vicar was also very welcoming and didn’t have any problems with us doing our job.  After the service everyone made their way to Ettington Chase for the reception where Coventry band The Roadhogs provided the evening entertainment.

We’d like to thank Cat, Mike and their terrific bridal party (sorry, I can’t remember all your names!) for being so much fun to work with on the day.  Hope you all like the pictures!

Last weekend saw us covering two weddings the first of which was Heather and Neil at the lovely Caverswall Castle up in Staffordshire.  The wedding itself was at St Philomena’s church which is literally next door to the castle.  This was a gorgeous little church, full of light and colour.  The castle itself is full of character with lots of photo opportunities all round.

After the speeches we took Neil and Heather outside for some photos of them alone in the gorgeous evening light, but there was a surprise in store for Heather a bit later as just after the first dance, Neil took the microphone for an impromptu serenade!

I thought it was time the website received a bit of an update so in addition to ‘warming’ up the site colours a little (the grey was a little cold wasn’t it?)  a lot of the pages have now had minor updates made to them.  The biggest change though is the new Gallery which is now broken down into sections including one showing pictures from the pre-wedding shoot.  All of the pictures have been updated, some of the old ones removed and of course new images from more recent weddings brought in.  The Gallery also includes a section showing one of our album designs.

The new Gallery looks great.  The images are bigger, crisper and are laid out in a more logical way.  There’s more changes to come though!
