It seems to be an annual event for us, to return to Highbury Hall just as the autumn is coming to an end. Towards the end of last month we photographed the wedding of Alex and Lucy.
This booking was a little unusual for us. Because of their jobs, Alex and Lucy are often overseas so much of the planning for their wedding was undertaken by Lucy’s mum. We didn’t meet the couple until their pre-wedding shoot – just a week before the wedding.
The day itself was also a little different for me as Sarah was unable to photograph the wedding. Instead, my friend and fellow wedding photographer Jon Rouston was kind enough to drive all the way from Nottingham to come and second-shoot.
This was one of the most laid-back weddings we’ve undertaken all year. With all the events happening at Highbury Hall, there was no rushing around and thanks to the planing, there was plenty of time for everything. Highbury is quite a challenging venue to work in terms of light and for this wedding we had the added ‘fun’ of inclement weather. However Alex and Lucy were great sports and were more than happy to go outside for photos when the rain decided to return (see photo below of Lucy’s wellies!). We’d like to thank Alex and Lucy for looking after Jon and I on the day and ensuring we were fed and watered.
The wonderful ‘wedgewood’ style cake was made by Carolines Cake Company
So as usual, we have a ‘sneek peek ‘ of images here on the blog. For guests who attended the wedding, the full set will be available to view shortly in the Client Area.
